St Ives Cycling Club's top road team raced the multi-stage RAS De Cymru through the mountains of Wales, an event which is the team's toughest race of the season and the countries hardest race open to club level competitors.After 6 gruelling days of competition, the team of Jamie Caldwell, Lee Desborough, Malcolm Smith and Mark Thomson finished a creditable 8th place in the overall team classification, with Jamie Caldwell the club's highest place finisher in 17th position.  Read More

This weekend saw the highlight of the St Ives timetrialling achievements for the year.  At the beginning of the season I suggested/convinced a few folk that St Ives CC should join the ECCA (Eastern Counties Cycling Association) so we could participate in the Festival weekend and Championships.  Festival weekend went ok, but was not the main draw.  The Championship 10m/25mTT were the target for our season and St Ives entered a team of 4 riders into each, these were Andre Dyason, Lee Desborough, Mick Hodson and Paul Davis.  This was in our view one of our strongest teams to field.  The anticipation builds..... Sunday 22nd Nov - Route 8 plus Club Hill Climb as per info from Chris.  We will ride out to the signing on point for the hill climb, those wishing to ride sign on, those wishing to watch and cheer I suggest the top of the first hill or at the finish suitably positioned away from the time keeper.  After the riders have finished we will continue on route 8 to the café stop at ‘Farm Centre Tea Rooms’ Thurliegh, groups will reform at the Farm Entrance just before A14 fly over
