St Ives cyclists battled it out at the cycling club’s annual hill-climb on Sunday morning.  Struggling to find a suitable road in the flat lands of Cambridgeshire, the club settled upon the northbound climb from Spaldwick to Barham.  The social ride was especially diverted to give riders the option of participating or spectating on the windy Sunday morning. St Ives cyclists raced through the night at the appropriately named ‘Dusk til Dawn’.  The night race around Thetford forest begins at sunset and competitors race though the night, either as individuals or as part of a relay team, where riders race a lap before handing over to their teammate. St Ives Cycling Club members, Steve Halsall, Greg Simcock and John Batchelor took part in the toughest race of the year. The 3 Peaks Cyclo-Cross Race tackles the climbs of Ingleboorough, Whernside and Pen-Y-Gent in the Yorkshire Dales and is widely renowned to push all the participants to their limits, appealing to both the fell running community and the cycle racing clubs alike.
